The annual water polo tournament will take place at the school pool from 5-9 October and this year sees a competition within a competition. The SA Universities have asked if their inter Varsity tournament can be incorporated into ours so there will be a larger  number of teams from the universities taking part.

Maties and UCT traditionally have had strong water polo teams both in the men and ladies category and they can be expected to put up some strong opposition. Other varsities taking part are North West Potchefstroom, Tukkies and  Wits. In the tournament itself OJ Eagles have dominated the event over the years winning nine of the last ten and once again they will be the team to beat.

Play starts on the Thursday evening for the local teams and then from Friday play starts each day at 07;00 with the finals scheduled for Sunday afternoon. Food and d rink will be available and on the Saturday evening the South Africa/All Blacks rugby match will be shown. Not only do we expect players who have represented South Africa at various levels but with the SA Universities team having just returned from Taiwan, some of those players will be representing their university. The competition is always strong and this year will see that level boosted with the teams that will be taking part.
