The clubhouse and bowling greens are located within the grounds of the society in Houghton, Johannesburg. The club is
affiliated to the Johannesburg Bowls Association and Bowls South Africa. It is serviced through the caterer and members can purchase
light meals or drinks in the clubhouse. New members can get free coaching to learn the rules and etiquette of bowls and practical play coaching. Contrary to belief, bowls is not an old person’s game and it requires a considerable degree of skill. Coaching is free. The club also offers a free “try-out” for those who want to see what bowls is about.
How do I join the bowls club?
Joining the bowls club is relatively uncomplicated requiring membership of the Society and the bowls sub club and a prospective member for bowls will be guided by one of the bowls club committee members. An approval process is required before acceptance but this is almost never a problem.

What does the bowls club do?
The bowls club usually has “tab” games on a few days of the week and on a Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. The
club usually enters teams to play in the various JBA leagues.Members can also enter any of the JBA tournaments or those
organised by other affiliated clubs as individuals or as part of a team.
